[in2p3-00824243, v1] Rotating hyperdeformed quasi-molecular states formed in capture of light nuclei and in collision of very heavy ions
نویسندگان
چکیده
Within a rotational liquid drop model including the nuclear proximity energy the l-dependent potential barriers governing the capture reactions of light nuclei and of very heavy ions have been determined. Rotating quasi-molecular hyperdeformed states appear at high angular momenta. The energy range of these very deformed high spin states is given for light systems. The same approach explains the observation of ternary cluster decay from56Ni and 60Zn through hyperdeformed shapes at angular momenta around 45 . The apparently observed superheavy nuclear systems in the U+Ni and U+Ge reactions at high excitation energy might correspond to these rotating isomeric states formed at very high angular momenta even though the shell effects vanish.

متن کاملLight clusters in nuclear matter of finite temperature
We investigate properties and the distribution of light nuclei (A ≤ 4) in symmetric nuclear matter of finite temperature within a microscopic framework. For this purpose we have solved few-body Alt-Grassberger-Sandhas type equations for quasi-nucleons that include self-energy corrections and Pauli blocking in a systematic way. In a statistical model we find a significant influence in the compos...
متن کاملProduction and study of new neutron rich heavy nuclei in multinucleon transfer reactions
30 years ago there had been a great deal of interest in the use of heavy ion multinucleon transfer reactions for the production of new neutron rich isotopes of heavy nuclei. Many experiments of such kind have been performed those time and very interesting information concerning collision dynamics have been derived. The cross sections for the production of above–target elements were found to dec...
متن کاملModelling with uncertainties: The role of the fission barrier
Fission is the dominant decay channel of super-heavy elements formed in heavy ions collisions. The probability of synthesizing heavy or super-heavy nuclei in fusion-evaporation reactions is then very sensitive to the height of their fission barriers. This contribution will firstly address the influence of theoretical uncertainty on excitation functions. Our second aim is to investigate the inve...
متن کاملMolecular Orbital Effects in Near-symmetric Collisions of 10 A MeV Heavy Ions with Solid Targets
Cross sections for target atom K vacancy production have been measured recently, using solid targets of Cu, Mo, Ag, Sn, Sm, and Ta bombarded by 10 A MeV beams of H, Ne, Ar, Cr, Kr, Xe, and Bi [1]. It was found that the target K x-ray production cross section becomes enhanced as the target atomic number Z2 approaches the atomic number Z1 of the projectile. The purpose of the work presented here ...
